What to Do if You Find Orphaned Baby Wildlife

Orphaned Baby Possum

It's baby wildlife season! If you think you see a wild animal in distress or that is orphaned don't touch it! You may be doing more harm than good. Call your local animal control officer, animal shelter or wildlife center for advice. This is an orphaned baby opossum picked up today by one of the MTAS animal control officers. She will be transported to a wildlife rehabilitation center where they will raise her and then release her back into the wild when she is old enough.
